New York: On the lines of ICC future tours program (FTP), United Nations has adopted future tours program for foreign visits of country heads. From now on, a country head can visit a foreign country only once in a year. However, there is no restriction on number of calls one can do or number of emails, fax, WhatsApp messages one can send to his or her counterparts throughout the year.
According to our sources, some top world leaders were getting worried with PM Modi’s popularity in their own country by his timely visits and addresses he gives to huge gatherings in their own backyard. They wanted to ‘restrict’ his further visits to their countries. It seems they successfully influenced smaller countries to vote in favor of the resolution.
“Considering India’s central election is due by April-May next year, PM Modi would have liked to complete all his ‘important’ visits within this year. So, it is natural he will look for multiple visits in certain cases,” said Ram Madhav, General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Mr. Madhav said, “Why PM Modi likes to go to important developed countries so often, because we want to meet their entrepreneurs, to bring more investment to India. Chotu Motu countries se baat karke milega kya humein.”
Mr. Madhav added “This is a temporary setback. I am confident our honorable PM who turns adversity in to opportunity will find a way to overcome something like this as he has done so many times in the past”.
We are not sure whether PM Modi has already known who are behind this. Breaking his own protocol, he was seen only handshaking some leaders instead of hugging them during his interaction on the first day at Davos.
