ISIS takes responsibility for explosions in Pakistan, turns out kids were bursting crackers to celebrate Pakistan's victory in Champions Trophy

It has been rightly said that cricket is a game of uncertainties. This got clearer when Pakistan beat Sri Lanka defying the most popular proverb “ Sarfraz Dhoka dega “. Pakistani skipper Sarafarz scored unbeaten 61 off 79 balls, leading his team to a memorable victory.

Celebrations began moments after Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by three wickets to reach semifinals of ICC Champions trophy 2017. In a strange incident in Lahore one of the cricket fans burst a cracker, which produced so much noise that people around mistook it for a terrorist attack.

Before police could reach the site where incident happened, PM Nawaz Sharif made an announcement saying Pakistan has nothing to do with the blast and that Indian forces were behind the same. Without wasting a second, ISIS took the responsibility soon after the incident happened. It became embarrassing for both Nawaz Sharif and ISIS when Lahore police investigated the issue and clarified that it’s not a terrorist attack.

It’s not the first time when ISIS has shown  eagerness to take responsibility for a blast. Last time when PM Nawaz Sharif greeted PM Modi on his b’day saying “Happy B’day PM Modi have a blast” ISIS quickly replied “We take the responsibility of the blast” that turned out to be one of the most embarrassing moments for ISIS.

Many global leaders spoke about the incident, President of the Unites States Donald Trump tweeted to Nawaz Sharif “NO MERCY TO TERRORISTS you dumb bast**ds!”

PM Narendra Modi tweeted “We stand firmly with the people of Pakistan in this hour of grief. I wish all those injured a quick recovery.”

While world leaders’ reactions even before knowing the actual incident clearly speak of their firm stand against terrorism, NDTV journalists as always, have different view point. Prannoy Roy tweeted “What if all the incidents are like this and we have been calling them terrorist attacks?” If Pakistan wins their semi-final, one thing is for sure, their team will not have a blast to celebrate !
