India captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday played down the hype surrounding their upcoming marquee clash with arch-rivals Pakistan in the Champions Trophy, saying it is just another game of cricket for the players. But it is not the same case with the cricket fans in the country. This one is a most awaited clash. In fact one employee in Mumbai wasted almost 2 weekdays in coming up with a reason to take leave for the match, only to realize today that the match would be played on a Sunday.

Defending champions India will be opening their campaign against Pakistan at Edgbaston, Birmingham on 4 June amidst tense bilateral relations between the two nations. Fans all around the country have made plans to watch the match with their near and dear ones and celebrate the team’s victory. Sanil Jain who works for a MNC in Mumbai had a hard time coming up with a reason to take leave for the match. In the last 1 year he has almost given every possible reason to take leave, so he was totally stressed out.

Our Faking News reporter caught up with Sanil and he had this to say, ” My Boss is very strict in granting leaves, and I had taken 10 days of leave recently for my brother-in-law’s wedding. Some of the weird reasons I have given in the recent past include ‘My pet is not well’, ‘ Have to take my wife shopping’, ‘My car keys have been stolen (Although I don’t own a car)’ so that I can easily get leaves. I have even killed many of my relatives on paper while applying leave, so this time I dint know which relative to kill. It was only after my colleague Shwetank Malik saw me stressed out in office, that he came to know about my problem, and told me that the match is on a Sunday. I feel so relaxed now.”

Our appeal to all the cricket fans out there would be to please go through the tournament schedule before wasting your time in planning leaves.
