New Delhi: Isha Malhotra, daughter of a Delhi industrialist Ashish Malhotra, has bought a brand helicopter for her shopping trips to Connaught Place. She decided to make this purchase after cars were banned from Delhi’s busy shopping district, Connaught Place (CP).
In a meeting chaired by Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu, it was decided that the middle and inner circles of CP will turn into car and bus free zone for a three months period starting February. The inner circle of Connaught Place is a hub for shops of premium brands. It remains one of the most iconic buildings of New Delhi with a history of over 8 decades.
“I welcome this decision taken by the government. I will support this initiative by leaving my car at home and commuting via a helicopter”, Isha told Faking News, “Anyway, all the middle class people created a lot of chaos by bringing their Maruti cars to CP. My BMW always got stuck in the traffic jam, now happy days are here as I can skip all the traffic.”
“Initially, my friends suggested me Select City Walk in Saket for shopping, some suggested flying to New York for shopping. But CP is my favourite destination for shopping. Why should I change my favorite shopping place for a temporary law?” Isha asked.
A special helipad will be made in the Central Park for safe landing of many such helicopters expected to come from South Delhi. Prime Minister and aviation expert Narendra Modi is personally looking after this project.
Speaking on the issue, Venkaiah Naidu tried to justify this decision, “The common man has already been given a lot of facilities like Metro, therefore the rich need some amenities too, like a helipad. As you know, our motto is – Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas.”
Since Mumbai faces a lot of traffic issues too and there is no space to land a helicopter, some of the Bollywood Celebrities have decided to come to Delhi in a helicopter for their shopping. However, the Government has denied Salman Khan’s request to bring helicopter in Delhi, for reasons unknown.
