Inspired by Rahul Gandhi, England’s captain claims moral victory after loss to Australia in Ashes

England may have faced a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Aussies with the media back home criticizing the senior players in the team for their dismal performance. But Captain Joe Root still sees a silver lining to the mess.

While speaking to the media Joe Root said, “We may have lost the series but it’s a moral victory for us. We played a fair game and that’s how cricket should be played.”

Joe Root did not elaborate much on his claim but reiterated that the team will remain morally victorious even with a 5-0 whitewash.

Sources say that after hearing Roots comment, Australian player Steve Smith went hysterical and had several bouts of laughter. He was later airlifted to nearby hospital after complaining of chest pain.

When asked by a reporter if Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s recent comment had anything to do with the moral victory; Joe Root replied in positive.

After Joe Roots acknowledgement, may Congress workers were seen bursting crackers outside the party office.

Senior leaders who were earlier skeptical of Rahul’s elevation were now absolutely sure that he was the right choice for the post among all those who fought for it.
