Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been travelling around the country to promote the upcoming film, “Sachin: A Billion Dreams.” Sachin Tendulkar reveals the highs and lows of his illustrious career and previously unseen insights into his private life in Sachin: A Billion Dreams. Meanwhile, the government wants to use this opportunity to bring Sachin to the Rajya Sabha for at least one day as it seems to be difficult nowadays.
Tendulkar has attended 23 of the 348 days since his nomination in 2012, 5 more than Rekha who has attended 18. Tendulkar and Rekha have not participated in a single debate in their nearly five-year stint in the Rajya Sabha. Government has taken note of this issue and now wants to try and correct the matter.
The Information and Broadcasting ministry is in constant touch with Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures who are jointly producing the movie, to make some arrangements for Sachin to attend Rajya Sabha. Ravi Shankar Prasad who heads the ministry has told the producers to host the movie premiere on 26th May in Rajya Sabha so that Sachin comes to the Rajya Sabha at least for one day and can take part in the debate or discussion scheduled for a single day.
Faking News reporter spoke to a government official who is a part of the arrangement team and he had this to say, ” We have been thinking ways for Sachin to be a part of important discussions. We had even thought of having the Rajya Sabha meet in Mumbai for one day in a month, but then it would become difficult for all members to go from here to Mumbai every month. Then we thought of having him included through Skype. But the internet connection inside the Rayja Sabha is not sufficient to do that as most of the bandwidth is used by MPs to update their mobile applications during any debate or discussion.”
If the discussions bear fruit is something we all we have a close look on and hope that just like Sachin has inspired billions through his game, he can do so in politics too.
