On Tuesday, Lalu Yadav’s son Tejasvi Pratap Yadav gave a controversial yet funny remark after he was raided by CBI.
Tejasvi Yadav said that CBI is wrongly framing him in the scams that happened in 2004. He supported his statement by saying that in 2004 he was just 14 years old and he didn’t even have a moustache so how can he even commit a crime.
This statement of Tejaswi seems to have influenced many other politicians as well. AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala, who is currently serving her 4 year term in jail for disproportionate assets case, got motivated from Tejasvi’s comment and said that even she didn’t have a moustache when all the wrongdoings happened. Sasikala has also urged the government to release her since it’s a 21 year old case.
Tejaswi’s comment created a buzz on social media and soon Tejaswi became butt of all the jokes.
One of the twitter users said , “Now I understand why a majority of politicians are always clean shaved.”
Another user said, “Why did they kill Osama he did have beard but not moustache, hope ICJ takes action.”
It’s not the first time when a bigwig has escaped his crimes by giving a funny statement. Rajnath Singh’s statements or rather “Kadi Ninda” after every terrorist attack have also helped him run away from his responsibilities.
While people are enjoying jokes on Tejaswi’s statement, Indian judicial system’s seriousness is at stake. Whether Tejaswi’s remark will be considered a valid proof or some action will be taken against him time only will tell.
