Amritsar: Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has floated a new party called Awaz-e-Punjab, in order to contest the elections in Punjab, has come out stating that he would ensure a complete ban on his commentary if he is voted into power this election.

‘Ab roko mujhe CM banne se’

This promise is expected to be his chief election plank and if experts are to be believed, will swing votes of all cricket fans towards him and turn the election decisively. Sidhu has promised that is elected as CM, he will not do any commentary during IPL matches and even during Extra Innings show, he will just sit and laugh like he does on Kapil Sharma show.

Earlier, Sidhu, who was expected to join AAP, shocked everyone by floating his own party with former Hockey player Pargat Singh, and Bains brothers.

We spoke to a leading political analyst to gauge the impact of Sidhu’s announcement, “Well this changes everything. IPL has huge viewership in Punjab thanks to our own Kings XI Punjab team. It is annual ritul to watch Kings XI lose. However, people are unable to enjoy IPL completely because all of them are watching in on mute to avoid Sidhu’s commentary. They don’t dislike Sidhu, they just can’t understand the link between his commentary and the match. Then instead of enjoying the cricket and the cheerleaders, they start wondering what is the link between that six and the sher Sidhu saab said.”

“With IPL fans in his corner along with Kapil Sharma’s fans, this can become a clean sweep for him. Some political party should have seen it coming and should have snapped him up after he left BJP”, the analyst said.

This announcement has sent shock waves through the other parties who were considering Sidhu’s party as a small player in the upcoming election. An all party meeting has been called at Sukhbir Badal’s residence to figure out a way to counter this threat by Sidhu.

When we asked Mr. Sidhu what other announcements we can hear in the coming days from him, he unleashed a volley of shers on our reporter who had to be rescued from there by the security agencies.
