New Delhi. Sources close to Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the new President of India, suggest that the veteran leader is already bored with his new assignment – where he’s supposed to be the formal head of the legislature, executive, and judiciary branches of Indian democracy, apart from being the commander-in-chief of the Indian Armed Forces.
Despite so many posts to his credit, Pranab Da has got virtually nothing to do, sources claim.
“The day he took the oath was very busy,” Supratik, a close aid of Pranab Da told Faking News, “He signed many documents, delivered speeches, hosted dinner, and dropped Pratibha Patil to her new house. But since then, he has done almost nothing.”
Pranab Da was earlier the Finance Minister of India and somehow used to keep busy, even though people thought he was doing nothing to help the Indian economy and the markets.
“Sir will always enter random numbers in Excel sheets and use some formula to calculate how different interest rates could impact the economy. He had this shared worksheet with RBI governor and they were always busy making some changes,” a Finance Ministry official confirmed.
Apart from being the Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee was also seen as chief troubleshooter of the UPA government and he was often busy making sure coalition allies were comfortable.
“He would make sure he would ‘like’ all Facebook posts by Mamata Banerjee, ‘favorite’ every tweet of Omar Abdullah, and forward funny jokes to Karunanidhi’s email to keep them in good humor,” Supratik disclosed.
“Now he is as bored as being on Google Plus,” he added.
Pranab Da is reported to have asked his predecessor Pratibha Patil on how she used to keep busy. “Watch TV – I got HD subscription of lifestyle, travel, and cookery channels. Hope you continue the subscription,” was the apparent response of the former President.
Patil is also reported to have advised Pranab Mukherjee to travel to all those countries, against which India will take part in an Olympics game so that bilateral ties between the two countries are strengthened despite sports rivalry.
