The Centre is confident of starting the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train on August 15, 2022 to commemorate the 75th year of India’s Independence, a year ahead of its schedule, a senior official of the railway ministry said on Monday. But the announcement has come as a big headache for ticket examiners. Examiners are worried that 2-5 hrs of journey time is very less for them to collect maximum bribe.

The official, who in-charge of the bullet train project, said that while the deadline to launch the train will remain 2023, the railways is focused to start it keeping in view the Independence Day celebrations in 2022. Faking News reporter caught up with Harneet Ahuja the T.T.E with Northern division and he had this to say,” Everyone, even the government knows that bribes are an important or lets say a major part of our income. And our rates are also reasonable. We provide berths to the needy ones and charge very less. Bullet train will kill us. How can you expect us to collect bribes from every possible person on a 2.5 hrs journey. Its impossible. We request the government to increase the travel time by reducing the proposed speed of the bullet train, or else increase our salaries.”

Piyush Goyal, meanwhile is not worried by such protests as he has a solution for it. Goyal has explained his authorities that less journey time means the train ccan go to and fro for more number of rounds than the normal trains. The examiners who missed collecting the required amount of bribes can do so while making the return journey on same day. He also promised that the divisions will not change shifts once the train reaches its destination and the same examiners will be allowed to make the return journey.
