Jalandhar: Engineering students of Lala Mastram Technical University, Punjab, have made Indians proud by winning the Global Mannequin challenge.  The Mannequin Challenge is a viral Internet video trend where a bunch of people remains frozen in action like mannequins while a video is recorded.

The Global Mannequin challenge is conducted by Youtube. Users upload their videos on the website with the hashtag #MannequinChallenge. The winners of this challenge are the people who do not move for the longest period of time. The video that won the award was uploaded by the hostel warden on Youtube yesterday.

Faking News decided to conduct an in-depth research of this video that made these students win this challenge. We found out that the hostel warden secretly installed CCTV cameras in rooms and the college library when the students had gone to attend their lectures. Students did not know that they are being recorded but have forgiven the warden after they won this challenge.

A student who was featured in the video got ready to speak to us on the condition of anonymity. “I had just returned after attending the Physics lecture yesterday.  The professor taught something about Newton’s first law in the class. Anyway, it was such a boring lecture that most students were left drowsy after the lecture. I came back to the hostel, hit the bed, and slept for 15 straight hours. My sleep was interrupted when the janitor woke me up, because he wanted to clean the room. When I woke up, my friends and I were already famous on the internet”, he said.

“There are two good things that happened because of this incident. One – We won the Global Mannequin challenge. Two – I understood Newton’s first law – An object in motion stays in motion with the same speed, in the same direction and an object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an external force” he added.
