The circular requests all the utilities to take up the excavation work on major roads before monsoon completely hits the city.

Faking News reporter spoke to BMC commissioner, MC Gaddhe. Mr. Gaddhe said Mumbai still doesn’t have proper drainage system at place and potholes take up the extra water that would otherwise be on the roads causing water logging.  Mr. Gaddhe further said, Potholes not only consume extra water but they also make drivers more cautious while driving and that’s one of the reasons we see less accidents due to collisions during the month of June and July.

It has been learnt that this year government has made better roads and they may not wash out even during heavy rains. That’s why BMC has urged utilities to dig the roads. Reportedly, last year during monsoon one pothole in Colaba was so huge that Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) used it as a foundation of its pillar.

Circular has also led to some dispute among two groups of people of different ideologies. People who follow ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi and people who follow ideologies of Lal Bahadur Shastri went into some serious conflict after BMC revealed that LBS Road has more potholes than MG Road.

Whether Potholes are a problem or a blessing in disguise is still a question. BMC doesn’t seem to have a fixed stand on whether to promote potholes which save lives by reducing the vehicles’ speed or to remove them as they cause accidents.
