New Delhi: Couple of days after Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap questioned him on his visit to Pakistan last year; PM Narendra Modi has responded and agreed to answer all of Anurag Kashyap’s questions. However, he has put forward one condition; Kashyap will have to explain the plot of his film ‘No Smoking’ in return.
Earlier, The Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India had announced that movies featuring Pakistani actors will not be screened in single screen theaters in Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat. This announcement is likely to affect Karan Johar’s upcoming release ‘Ae Dil hai Mushkil’ and Kashyap came out in support of the film. In a series of tweets, he asked why PM Modi shouldn’t face action as well for his visit to Pakistan if we are boycotting everything from there.
“During one of his recent visits, Modi ji saw this film No Smoking during the flight. Ever since he saw that, he has been moving around in a confused state of mind. He just couldn’t understand what was happening in the film. He asked all of us in the PMO but even we didn’t have a clue. Only No Smoking we understand is that board in front of which we smoke”, a PMO official said.
“These questions by Anurag Kashyap have provided the perfect opportunity for Modi Ji. He can finally ask Kashyap to explain the plot and in return, Modi ji will answer all his questions on the ban or boycott of Pakistani artists. Hopefully, Kashyap will explain the plot to Modi Ji’s satisfaction and he will stop asking us to see the film again and again to understand the film”, he added.
Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Verma has vowed to never ask any questions to Narendra Modi fearing that he will be asked to explain what ‘RGV ki Aag’ was.
