Kota: The protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama ‘Padmavati’ took the life of a brand new 56″ LED TV set today after a Karni Sena member smashed the screen of the TV. He did it after catching a glimpse of the Ghoomar song from the film while channel surfing. This is not the first instance of violence over promotional material of the film. Earlier, a multiplex in Kota was vandalised because they played the trailer of the film.
Explaining his actions to Faking News, the man said ,”We have very clearly said that we are totally against the screening of the film and even against any promotions whether it is is the trailer or the songs. We reinforced the point by attacking the multiplex running trailer of Padmavati. Now I couldn’t make an exception for myself. Once I saw the film’s song on the TV, it had to go, same rules apply to my TV and the multiplex. As a man of Principles, I had to smash my TV up. I can always buy another TV but I may not get a chance to protest against such a big budget film again.”
When asked what does he find most offensive about the film, the man said ,”Well, there is the Ghoomar song for a start, Queen will not dance in open court like that. Obviously I haven’t seen the film yet but I have also heard from a friend who was told by his friend that one of his friends has learnt that there is a dream love sequence between Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has denied existence of any such film but we have to trust friend of a friend of a friend of a friend, Producers to kuch bhi bol dete hain.”
As per family sources, the concerned man is also planning to change his son Sanjay’s name as a mark of protest against the film.
