Bollywood Director using masks for actors to show the film is being shot in Delhi

There was a time in Bollywood when real locations was just a dream for every director. Movies were shot in Studios. That was 1950 and now it’s 2017 but things haven’t changed much it seems. Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Prem ki Paribhasha has a scene from Delhi, but the director Ronnie Screwvala instead of shooting the scene in Delhi preferred to put masks on the actors’ faces to show that they are in Delhi.

Faking News reporter spoke to Ronnie Screwvala about his idea; he said, “I prefer real life locations but since it’s getting foggy in Mumbai too we decided not to waste money. I got this idea from Sri Lankan cricketers, the way they acted in Kotla test. So I decided to use this idea for my film PKP. All we needed was giving Alia and Arjun the face masks and bring in a few guys who can tease Alia and other females on our set to create Delhi like environment.”

Actor Arjun Kapoor too backed his Director’s statement and said, “Yes I agree with Ronnie, it is good not to go in Delhi due to rising pollution level. It was easy for us to create the feeling of Delhi just by putting masks.”

Though this move of Ronnie Screwvala has sparked a controversy at National level as Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “This is shocking! How they can ignore Delhi just like that? How can one create feeling of Delhi in Mumbai by mere wearing masks?” Reportedly, Arvind Kejriwal has hinted that he will not review the movie, disappointing his fans and followers.

This is not the first time when a director has done this sort of thing. Many directors have done this. Director Vivek Agnihotri proposed JNU to show location of Pakistan in his upcoming movie Lal Bahadur Shastri. Proposal was later denied as actor Anupam Kher refused to shoot inside JNU premises.
