After the huge success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus “Bajirao Mastani”, box office gurus speculated that portrayal of romance on the big screen cannot be bettered, not even by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. However, the filmmaker has vowed to prove everyone wrong by announcing his next venture, which is believed to be a real-life love story between a Bandra girl and a Virar boy, titled “Khaadi ke Uss Paar”.
Confirming his next release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, “All my movies are about how love between two people is pure and that no boundary can prevent them from being together. If my previous movies set the benchmark for lovers, they will see ‘Khaadi ke Uss Paar’ as the epitome of romance.” He further added that love knows no boundaries, and travelling from Virar to Bandra to meet a loved one is an example of the same.
The film is said to be based on the story of a real-life couple namely Pooja (23), a resident of Bandra and Raunak (25), who hails all the way from Virar.
At the event held by SLB Productions to announce the film, both Raunak and Pooja narrated how they fell in love. “It was an extended weekend and I did not want to stay home but go on vacation to a faraway place. It was then when I went to Bandra and saw Pooja. We immediately fell in love,” said Raunak. Pooja, explaining how she was then unaware of the fact that Raunak hails from Virar, said, “I fell in love because I thought that he lives in Bandra. When I realised that Raunak had travelled all the way to Bandra, I knew he was the #wanderlust I had been looking for.”
Raunak, despite repeatedly being corrected several times at the event, maintained that Virar is in Mumbai. Pooja looked at him, held his hand and said, “This is exactly what made me fall for you—your sense of humour,” after which she hugged him.
