As the smartphone market in India starts consolidating in the face of intense competition as well as the launch of low-cost 4G feature phones, there is always a scope for new leadership. Everyday a new brand comes up and disrupts the markets. The time is not far when we will have smartphone companies like Sharma’s, Verma’s, Srivastav’s and many more. All companies try to provide that one feature that becomes the USP of the phone. But in this race of providing best features, one company named ‘Gauto’ (a competitor of OPPO and VIvo) launched a phone which din’t have the mandatory sim-card slot in it.
Faking News reporter Harneet Singh Ahuja got hands on experience of the phone and confirmed the initial reports that the smartphone din’t have a sim-card slot. Harneet spoke to the company CEO who had this to say,” This type of mistake can occur and it should not be taken seriously. We have called back all phones from the market and we will insert sim-card slots in all. Actually, we did way too much research on adding new features to the phone, that there was no space left on the motherboard to accommodate a sim slot. Anyways who uses phone for calling purpose nowadays, all we want to use is internet through wi-fi or using applications. So sim-card slot is not mandatory as many in the market think. Less talk on phone is actually beneficial for one’s life and so people should not be concerned about the missing sim card slot. Although this time it was a mistake, next time we will literally be launching a sim-card free phone which will help you stay away from unnecessary and unproductive call time.”
Well, Gauto’s mistake is an eye opener for its competitors who have now become extra cautious while researching for new features.
