Mumbai. With the song “Sadda Haq” from Rockstar movie getting rave reviews and hyped to be the “youth anthem” of India, Ranbir Kapoor is hopeful of replacing Che Guevara on t-shirts that many Indian youth wear. Ranbir plays the lead role in Rockstar and is confident that the success of the movie will cement his position as the pop revolutionary of India and inspire the current generation to “do something”.
“With Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi having been proved corrupt by the current government, the youth of India needs a new hero, and Jordan will fill this vacuum,” Ranbir told Faking News. Jordan is the name of the character Ranbir plays in the movie who sings the song “Sadda Haq, Aithe Rakh”.
Since Jordan is a fictitious character, Ranbir is hopeful that the integrity and honesty of the latest hero can’t be questioned by anyone, not even by Digvijay Singh.
The video of the song features images of activists from Kashmir and Punjab and a bunch of young men waving Tibetan flag – issues that Team Anna failed to touch, or were slapped when they tried to touch.
“I am confident that they won’t slap Ranbir,” Rockstar director Imtiaz Ali said, “The lyrics of the songs are not controversial and don’t make any direct reference to any political conflict. Furthermore, we have also taken extra precautions such as not to call Mumbai as Bombay.”
Ranbir and Imtiaz are hopeful that political themes depicted in the song’s video will be a big hit with the Indian youth. Even if someone missed the political themes, the duo is confident that visuals of Ranbir Kapoor flashing his middle finger in air would definitely connect with the modern rebels.
“Like Ra.One merchandises, we are planning to sell Ranbir Kapoor t-shirts, which will be printed totally like the Che Guevara t-shirts,” Imtiaz hoped that the youth would sport them to prove a point.
“Excellent! Would love to see Ranbir in this get up,” a young man wearing Che Guevara t-shirt reacted to the news, “But Che will continue to be my all-time favorite guitarist.”
