Mumbai. Members of the government and the civil society have come together to convince Ram Gopal Varma to drop his plans to make a movie, apparently titled “Anna Ki Aag”, based upon Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement. A secret panel consisting of some central ministers and civil society members has already had three rounds of talks with Ramu, but sources inform that the maverick filmmaker has not relented.

“We are trying our best, we have not lost all hopes,” Swami Agnivesh told Faking News. Agnivesh, whose appearance with Team Anna had become less frequent in the last few days, confirmed that he was involved in secret parleys with RGV on behalf of the civil society.

“Why should I stop making movies?” asks Ram Gopal Varma

“We were informed that Mr. Varma was planning a movie on the Jan Lokpal movement, and it gave us nightmares. We couldn’t have afforded another fast to oppose Mr. Varma,” Agnivesh clarified why the civil society chose the path of debates and discussions instead of going on indefinite fast.

Even the government agreed with the civil society on this issue and decided to work with the civil society again despite receiving heavy blows from them recently.

“We saw some problems arising out of ‘Aarakshan’ in the last few days, but we shuddered to imagine what Ramu’s movie will do to public senses. His Factory must be stopped,” said Home Minister P Chidambaram, who is representing government on the panel in talks with RGV.

It should be noted that Ram Gopal Varma has been making movies on topics that make national headlines in the last few years. His latest movie “Not a Love Story” that released today is also on the same lines.

Sources inform that Ram Gopal Varma has refused to back down even after three rounds of talks. He termed it as an attack on his right to free speech.

“We are trying to convince him to at least name it differently as wounds inflicted by ‘Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag’ have still not healed for many,” Agnivesh said, “And maybe if he can avoid casting Vivek Oberoi as Anna Hazare, though we have no problem if he plays Kapil Sibal.”
